Argyle Police Blotter
An
officer stopped a vehicle on Hwy 377 occupied by two Liberty Christian School
students who were acting suspiciously. After a search of the vehicle turned up
nothing incriminating, the pair was released.
Police responded to a disturbance involving an intoxicated man in the 4200 block
of Thousand Oaks Drive.
A woman reported that an unknown person took her vehicle without permission
while she was walking the trail at Integrity Park.
Police were called to the 1500 block of Harpole Rd E six times during the month
of October by a man who was having marital problems with his wife. Each time, it
was determined that no offense had occurred and the man was told that it was a
civil matter.
An officer located a woman in the 800 block of Stonecrest who was reportedly
driving recklessly on Hwy 377. The woman denied it and said she had just taken
her child to school. The officer discovered that the woman did not have a valid
driver’s license and he instructed her to stay off the road.
Police were called to the Sante Center for Healing on a disturbance involving a
woman resisting admission for treatment.
Someone stole an antique car out of a woman’s barn in the 1000 block of
Stonecrest Road between January and October of this year. The woman was unable
to provide a license plate number or VIN.
Police were summoned to a loud party with a live band in the 600 block of Woods
Dr. Later that same night, officers were called to another party in the 700
block of Cypress St. on a noise complaint. A verbal warning was issued in both
cases.
A caller in the 300 block of Redbud Street reported a suspicious older model red
pickup with loud exhaust pipes driving around the neighborhood. Police were
unable to locate the truck.
A man in the 900 block of Pioneer Circle W said that an unknown person came to
his front door and knocked 20 times. He suspects that it was his neighbor, due
to a history of problems between them. Police suggested that the man talk to his
neighbor and install security cameras.
An officer stopped a reckless driver in the Shops of Argyle parking lot. The
driver, an elderly woman, began coughing and told police that she was highly
allergic to marijuana. She also stated she was trying to get to Lewisville and
once she figured out she wouldn't be able to get to where she was going; she
said she was heading to Oklahoma to see her niece who has lupus. After a vehicle
search turned up nothing, the woman was given directions to I-35 and instructed
to drive carefully.
Police responded to gun shots in the 800 block of Manor and found the owner of a
landscape company who admitted to shooting a 22-caliber rifle at a snake while
clearing brush. The man was warned that it is illegal to shoot a gun within the
town limits.
An officer noticed a silver pickup truck parked 50 feet off the roadway in the
900 block of C. Taylor and observed a woman and man putting their clothes back
on. The man said that they stopped there so they could “see the stars.” The
couple was given a warning for their behavior and was instructed to leave the
city.
A man told police that his soon-to-be ex-wife choked him in front of his
children during an argument in the 200 block of Westover.
Police assisted DPS troopers on a manhunt near I-35W and FM 407. The suspect,
who had assault rifles, handguns, and hundreds of rounds of ammunition in the
car that he abandoned, was apprehended with the help of Corinth’s Canine Unit.
Police responded to a report of a vehicle doing doughnuts in the Argyle
Intermediate School parking lot. A woman at the scene said that the driver was a
friend who took her vehicle without her permission. Police located the vehicle
and the suspect. No charges were filed.
Chester Wayne Clontz, 47, was arrested on felony charges of aggravated assault
and retaliation after a six-hour standoff in the 300 block of Redbud Dr. during
which Clontz threatened to kill his niece and her fiancé.
A Liberty Christian School security guard told
police that a white male dressed as a woman – complete with a long
sleeve sweater, skirt and high heels - was acting suspiciously after the
football game. When school officials confronted the man, he fled into
the women’s bathroom and then left the area before police arrived.
Someone fraudulently used a Country Lakes man’s
American Express card to purchase a laptop computer.
A caller reported that he was being followed by a
man in a white Chevy Tahoe who had pointed a gun at him shortly after he
left Christina’s Restaurant in Flower Mound. Police were unable to
locate the vehicle.
Police were notified about a man who had abandoned
some kittens at Integrity Park. The man told the officer that he was
giving the kittens away while he watched his son play baseball and that
they were in good health.
While on patrol just after midnight, an officer
discovered a couple engaging in sexual relations in a mini-van parked in
the Argyle Administration parking lot. The pair, from south Texas, said
they were staying with the man’s parents due to the hurricane, so they
stopped in the parking lot to have relations before going home. They
were told to get a hotel room. A little over an hour later, an officer
spotted another couple, sans clothes, fogging up the windows in a Jeep
parked at Liberty Christian School. The pair was told to leave the
property.
A caller told police that that the father of a runaway juvenile in Bartonville
had a gun and would shoot the police. Bartonville PD was called to handle the
situation.
A suspicious man came to a home in the 1400 block of FM 407 E and asked for a
ride to the hospital. The homeowner declined to help and called police. An
officer found the man on FM 1830, where he claimed to be injured from an
altercation with his mother. The man was transported to the hospital and was
later identified as a runaway from Denton County.
Police took a report from a 28 year-old woman in the 200 block of Shenandoah Ct
who said that her ex-friend is harassing her with continuous phone calls. Police
spoke to the caller who lives in Sanger and asked her to stop.
A woman employed at Argyle Methodist Church reported that her estranged husband
made a verbal threat during a meeting with their attorneys and she wanted police
to be aware of the situation, since he owns several firearms.
Someone made two unauthorized bank withdrawals totaling $900 after a man in the
1200 block of FM 407 W lost his ATM card at the Sack-N-Save in Denton.
A woman was greeted with obscene remarks after asking her neighbors to stop
kicking up dust while riding horses on their property in the 800 block of
Prairie Trail. Police arrived and were unable to locate the horse riders.
An officer stopped a car on I-35 W with a gas pump handle hanging out of the
vehicle’s gas tank. The officer accompanied the 54 year-old woman driver back to
Paradise Foods to reunite the gas pump handle with its rightful owner.
A dark colored pickup truck was observed doing doughnuts on the practice field
of Argyle High School, causing damage to the turf. Police were unable to locate
the truck.
A woman in the 200 block of Redbud St. went to her neighbor’s house to borrow an
item. The neighbor’s wife became upset with the woman, armed herself with a
pecan picker, and chased the woman away.
While on patrol in the Argyle High School parking lot, an officer observed a hit
and run accident. The driver of the striking vehicle was stopped on Hwy 377 and
instructed to return to the accident scene. No damage occurred and no charges
were filed.
A man in the 1500 block of Harpole Road E said that when his wife came home from
work for lunch, she noticed a white Chevrolet pickup at the end of their
driveway driven by a white man with dark hair and sunglasses. When the man saw
her, he sped away.
The Denton County Sheriff’s Dept. advised that LaVonna Robinson was at Denton
Presbyterian Hospital claiming to have been bitten by a dog at her residence. An
officer contacted the hospital and was told that Robison left the hospital when
she found out that the police were called.
Someone stole a homemade grill from a trailer at Paradise RV Park.
A man in the 900 block of Skyline Drive complained that his next door neighbor
drove through part of his yard. Police contacted the neighbor who said his
stepdaughter must have done it and said that he has had problems with his
neighbor in the past.
Someone kicked in a side door of a Graham Hart model home in Country Lakes on
Sandy Cove, triggering the burglar alarm. Nothing appeared to have been stolen.
An officer observed a man passed out in the driver’s seat of a truck parked at
Paradise Foods. The man said he was driving home and became sleepy so he decided
to pull over. He also said that he had been drinking, but was not drunk. The
officer told him not to drive because he did not have a driver’s license.
The owner of Steve Watson Custom Homes told police that a house under
construction at 405 Dallas Street was vandalized by someone who threw rocks
through two windows.
Police assisted Northlake PD with a traffic stop on I-35W and found marijuana in
the vehicle. One arrest was made.
A man in the 900 block of Pioneer Circle W reported that his wife had been
chased by his neighbor’s dogs. An officer visited the neighbor, who claimed that
the man was lying. The officer told the neighbor that any further violations
would result in a citation being issued.
Someone stole interior doors from a
home under construction in the 400 block of Meandering Creek Dr.
Police were called to the 300 block of Whispering Trail about juveniles
who were walking across people's yards shining flashlights.
Someone stole a Realtor sign and information box from the front yard of
a home located in the 400 block of
Harpole Road W.
Police assisted the Argyle Fire Dept. with a 6-year-old boy who got his
finger stuck in a toy.
Someone dumped a mannequin in the 1000 block of Frenchtown Rd.
An officer questioned a 23-year-old man walking in the 100 block of
Crawford Rd. The man said that he had an argument with his mother two
days ago, so he left his home in Robson Ranch, walked to Pilot Point and
was returning home.
Two juveniles were throwing chairs into the Country Lakes pool. The
suspects left before police arrived.
A man in the 300 block of Oak Drive complained that his 14-year-old
neighbor was hitting rocks with a bat and bouncing a ball off the side
of a trailer.
A construction manager for Noble Classic Homes reported that someone
took a concrete mixer valued at $2500 from a jobsite on Prairie View Ct.
Someone ran over a mailbox in the 400 block of Meandering Creek Dr.
A woman in the 300 block of Clifton Circle in Lantana said that she heard someone knocking on a downstairs window. Around the same time, a caller in the 8900 block of Newton in Lantana heard someone in the backyard. Police were unable to locate a suspect in either incident.
Police assisted the Argyle Fire Dept. with a 29-year-old suicidal man in the 600 block of Front Street W.
A woman told police that two girls in a Volkswagen Beetle waved a gun at her at the intersection of Ryan Rd. and FM 1830 in Denton. Police located the girls and they admitted that they flashed an Airsoft gun at the woman because she honked her horn at them when they were sitting at the stop sign too long.
An employee of Papi's told police that a customer was stalking her. Police contacted the man, a security officer at Denton Regional Hospital who lives in Ponder, TX, and told him that he is banned from coming to the restaurant.
A woman in the 300 block of Wooded Creek Ct. called police to report that her 15-year-old daughter was bitten in the face by her friend’s dog.
Police assisted the Argyle Fire Dept. with an accident where a woman was pinned between a car and a house in the 9000 block of Mustang Way in Lantana.
A man in the 300 block of Creekside Trail told police that his son stole three credit cards and racked up almost $2,000 in charges.
Police attempted to stop a black Ford Mustang for speeding in the 1500 block FM 407 E. The driver evaded police, but a witness wrote down the license plate number and police contacted the Mustang owner’s parents.
A man in the 600 block of Sunset Ct. called police after he awoke from a nap to find a man standing in his living room. The suspect fled from the house and police later arrested Jeffery Butler for breaking and entering and possession of a controlled substance.
An officer spotted a man urinating on the side of the interstate. The man said that his female companion would not stop the vehicle so that he could use the restroom. He then threatened to urinate in her vehicle if she did not stop the car.
Police were dispatched to a motorcycle accident in the 300 block of Old Justin Road. The incident turned out to be two bicyclists who ran into each other.
Police were dispatched to Johnny Joe’s about a woman who claimed that she was possessed by demons. During the encounter, the woman said that there was a dead body underneath the fountain drink counter.
Officers were dispatched to a party in the 700 block of Thornridge Circle where nine teenagers were consuming alcohol. Two of the teens were unconscious and had to be transported to Denton Regional Medical Center.
Chester Clontz was arrested for an outstanding DWI warrant after police responded to his residence in the 300 block of Redbud Street on a disturbance call.
Police directed traffic around a large grass fire at Hwy 377 and Stonecrest.
A caller complained that their neighbor was playing loud music in the 900 block of Pioneer Circle W.
Police corralled four black cows in the 800 block of Sam Davis Road.
Someone drove through a fence in the 1500 block of Harpole Road. Police found parts of the vehicle at the scene that had a Ford logo on them.
Police assisted the Argyle Fire Dept. on a traumatic injury call in the 500 block of Gibbons S.
A woman in the 700 block of
Stonecrest Road said that someone put a wire noose around her dog's neck
when she was not home.
A Northlake resident called police about three men who were
photographing her front gate. The men told police that they were on
vacation and were just taking scenic pictures.
Someone siphoned gas out of a truck in the 400 block of Santa Fe Trail.
A caller from Argyle United Methodist Church reported that someone stole
a lawnmower. The missing lawnmower was later located behind the porta-potties.
Police responded to a domestic disturbance in the 300 block of Creekside
Trail.
An employee of Kwik Kar accidentally backed into another vehicle while
he was performing a brake check on a customer's vehicle on Collins
Street.
Thieves stole $1,400 worth of equipment
out of a dump truck parked overnight at the Argyle Town Village
subdivision.
A woman in the 1400 block of Rolling Acres waited two weeks before
reporting that
two CD’s and some coupons were stolen from her SUV because she thought
that someone was just playing a joke on her.
Police were called about a suspicious man that came to a residence in
the 100 block of FM 407 W and asked if someone named “Mark” lived there.
The resident said that the man appeared to be casing vehicles and homes
in the area.
A man called the police department and reported that his son had either
lost his $400 trumpet or it was stolen.
A caller in the 300 block of 4th Street W said that his neighbor’s two
dogs were loose again and roaming the neighborhood.
Police found a man asleep in his truck behind Hilltop Elementary School.
Upon questioning, the man said he had been in an argument with his wife
and had left the residence for a while. Police asked him to leave school
property.
A man in the 400 block of FM 407 E said that his ex-girlfriend stole one
of his horses.
A woman accidentally locked her 9-month-old son in her vehicle in the
400 block of Santa Fe Trail. A locksmith arrived 15 minutes later and
freed the baby, who was unharmed.
Juveniles were knocking on doors and running away in the 400 block of
Collins St.
A concerned caller reported that a pickup truck driver was throwing his
dog up against the rear window of the truck. The driver told police that
his dachshund was just jumping all over the backseat. The dog appeared
fine and had no visible injuries.
A woman reported that her prescription medicine had been stolen for the
second time in the past several months. The woman thought that her
friend stole her medicine.
The manager of Paradise Foods said that a man came into the store and
asked for a discount on the leftover food in the deli. When he was told
no, he said that he was a health inspector and would shut the store
down. The man left before police arrived.
A woman told police that a loose dog barked at her while she was walking
in the 200 block of Country Lakes Blvd.
A resident in the 600 block of Country Club Rd. reported that a family
of cats was living under her front porch. She was referred to the Animal
Control Officer.
Police responded to the 300 block of Willow Street to assist a woman
with a neighbor’s dog that was threatening her in her front yard.
A man in the 900 block of Old Justin Rd. told police that a transient
may be living in a wooded area of his property without his permission.
A woman in the 900 block of Stonecrest Road said that a boy and a girl
were throwing bottles at her fence and breaking them on the road.
Shortly after an officer arrived, he witnessed the pair return with a
broom and trashcan to clean up the mess they made.
A woman said that two pairs of Ugg boots and a cell phone left at the
Country Lake pool were missing.
Police responded to fireworks complaints at the following locations:

Someone siphoned 5 gallons of gas out of a
Paradise Liquor delivery van parked at the business.
Gunshots were reported in the 100 block of Stonecrest Road. Police
determined that a resident was shooting snakes.
An officer assisted Bartonville Police with serving an arrest warrant in
the 8700 block of Cherry Lee Lane in Lantana.
Some kids were throwing water balloons at passing vehicles in the 500
block of Old Justin Road.
Police investigated a complaint that a 60-year-old man was wearing a
G-String Speedo while fishing in the Country Lakes pond. Although he was
not breaking any laws, the man told the officer that he would put on his
shorts so police wouldn’t get any more complaint calls.
A man reported that he was robbed at gunpoint by two Hispanic males in
the parking lot of Johnny Joe’s.
Police assisted the Argyle Fire Department in the 600 block of Knob Hill
where a nanny accidentally locked two children inside a vehicle for 40
minutes. The children were transported to Denton Regional Hospital,
where they were treated for dehydration.
An officer spotted a 12-year-old boy
illegally driving a moped in the 800 block of Harpole Road.
Police picked up an intoxicated man walking eastbound on FM 407 near
Paradise Liquors and took him home.
A caller reported a suspicious person in a white van taking pictures of
homes in the 400 block of Santa Fe Trail. It turned out to be the Denton
County Appraisal District.
Police assisted the Argyle Fire Department with an 80-year-old female
who was run over by a horse in the 11000 block of Fincher Road.
A caller told police that a white female parked her pickup truck on the
side of the road and appeared to be watching a house in the 300 block of
Forest Trail. The caller said that the woman would hide behind the truck
whenever a vehicle passed by.
Someone toilet papered a house in the 1000 block of Thornridge Circle
and stuck plastic spoons and forks in the yard. Police suspect it was a
senior prank.
An officer observed two kids harassing ducks at the Country Lakes pond.
The ducks did not appear to be injured.
Guns were stolen during a burglary in the 400 block of Collin Street.
A caller told police that an ex-employee had taken some items from a
business in the 100 block of Old Town Boulevard.
Police assisted the Denton County Sheriff’s Department with a domestic
disturbance in the 1500 block of Tiff Circle.
A caller told police that they received 78 calls from an unknown phone
number in a four-hour period, which may be coming from their
granddaughter’s boyfriend.
Someone stole a loading ramp from a residence in the 1400 block of
Rolling Acres.
An officer spotted four girls in the Country Lakes pool after hours. The
girls admitted that one of them had climbed the fence and let the others
in.
An officer was sent to the 1000 block of Harpole Road to check on a
domestic disturbance. The father said that he, his wife and his sons had
been in a verbal argument and things had gotten out of control.
Someone put trash and old shoes in the yard of a house in the 300 block
of Country Lakes Boulevard.
An officer corralled two loose brown cows in the 500 block of Meandering
Creek.
Some Argyle High School students were blocking a passageway with their
vehicles as part of a senior prank.
A business owner in Denton wanted to file a police report about a
customer in Argyle who made an obscene statement about his daughter.
Police were called to remove snakes in or near homes on Sam Davis Road,
Pioneer Circle East, Ben Boyd Road and Hickory Hill Circle E.
Police were called to remove a snake from
a house in the 600 block of Woods Drive.
A woman in the 700 block of Johns
Well Ct. asked police to keep an eye on their home after her husband’s
assistant coach threatened him during an argument at a basketball game
in Corinth earlier in the day.
An officer caught a resident
green-handed, taking sod from a construction site in the 300 block of
Creekside Trail. The officer made him return the 18 rolls of sod and
issued a citation for theft.
Police responded to a report of a
juvenile breaking into the Argyle Church of Christ.
A woman called police and said that rumors were being spread about her
15-year-old stepdaughter and her three friends at Argyle High School.
Police told the woman she should notify the school to resolve the
matter.
During a domestic disturbance in
the 200 block of Dallas Street, a woman smashed her husband’s truck with
a baseball bat, causing damage to the truck’s body, breaking both tail
lamps and flattening a tire.
A woman in the 900 block of Stonecrest
Road told police that someone had stolen medication from her purse.
Police investigated graffiti spray painted on an exterior door of a
school on Eagle Dr. that appeared to be a symbol of the Latin Kings
gang.
A caller in the 200 block of Stonecrest told police that a juvenile,
wearing all black clothing, was walking in the road at 11 p.m. An
officer arrived and found a 19-year-old man who said he was exercising
and walked in the middle of the street because he had seen snakes on
both sides of the road.
Police stopped a vehicle for running a red light in the 900 block of Hwy
377 S. The driver was arrested for DWI.
A woman in the 200 block of Willow Street called police to report that
two kids were riding motorcycles behind her house and she couldn’t hang
her clothes out because of all the dust they were kicking up.
A man in the 300 block of Cook Street told police that he put rocks
across his drive to keep vehicles from cutting through his property.
An officer assisted Bartonville Police on a domestic disturbance in the
800 block of Noble Champions, where a man was arrested for family
violence.
A woman reported that someone had shoe polished her car windows while
she was working at Cross Timbers Community Church.
Police responded to a burglar alarm in the 1300 block of Harpole Road
and found the homeowner and a RE/MAX agent at the residence. The
homeowner told police that the realtor set the alarm off when he entered
the home without her permission.
A woman in the 300 block of Sandy Cove Ct. told police that a man was
acting strangely during a job interview. She said that the man appeared
to be disoriented and angry.
An officer saw a man reaching into a parked car in the 200 block of
Oregon Trail. The man claimed to be a friend of the vehicle’s owner.
Police determined the man was intoxicated and he was arrested.
Police observed two men riding bikes on Hwy 377 at 1:30 in the morning.
The men said that they were riding at night because it was cooler and
there is less traffic.
A woman told police that three kids between the ages of 9 and 11 were
jumping out in front of cars in the 300 block of Crawford Road.
Someone stole purses from an office at the First Baptist Church of
Argyle on Hwy 377.
A woman captured a miniature horse running along Hwy 377 in front of
Cross Timbers Community Church. Police took custody of the pony and
attempted to locate its owner.
A woman in the 200 block of Oak Street called police to complain that
kids were riding motorcycles in a vacant lot next to her house. She said
that the dust being created was causing medical problems for her kids
and that she was going to file a civil suit to stop them from riding
there.
Someone broke into a home through a garage in the 400 block of Ben Boyd
Road and stole a television.
A woman in the 800 block of Frenchtown Road told police that someone had
laced the marijuana she had smoked with ecstasy.
A juvenile at Argyle High School was found in possession of stolen
property that belonged to the high school.
Police checked on a disabled vehicle in the 100 block of Country Club
Road and arrested the occupant for public intoxication and possession of
marijuana.
A man called police to complain that kids sometimes ride four wheelers
behind his home in the 900 block of Stonecrest and he wanted to know if
that was allowed.
A woman in the 200 block of Westover Road asked officers to keep an eye
on their residence after her daughter’s purse was stolen earlier in the
day with her house keys and personal information inside.
Police were contacted after a woman in the 900 block of Pioneer Circle
received a threatening phone call about a missing newspaper. Police
determined that the call was a prank by a 13-year-old boy. No charges
were filed.
A caller in the 700 block of Harpole Road said that a paving company
working on a job nearby was trying to get people to pave their
driveways.
Police responded to a fight between two men in the 400 block of Front
Street. One of the men had left before the officer arrived. The
remaining man said that the fight was over a woman, and that the man who
left was possibly a gang member.
A man told police that someone had made several purchases in California
using his credit card.
Police assisted the Argyle Fire Dept. with traffic control during a
house fire in the 8700 block of Weston Lane in Lantana.
Police received numerous phone calls about 20 motorcycles on I-35W doing
stunts, driving recklessly, speeding and cutting people off. Several
area police agencies attempted to stop the cyclists, who were going over
100 mph. Police were able to pull over a few of the riders, but others
got away.
Five juveniles were caught stealing
political signs in Country Lakes after a high-speed chase on Hwy 377. An
Argyle town councilman, who witnessed some of the thefts and followed
the suspects, assisted police with the investigation. No charges were
filed.
A 37-year-old woman began to drive away from the Paradise Foods gas pump
with the hose still attached to her vehicle, causing it to be pulled off
of the pump.
Police were dispatched to the 300 block of Redbud Street, where a man
assaulted a woman with a telephone.
Roanoke police stopped a truckload of teens on Hwy 377 who had just
purchased a large amount of toilet paper from Wal Mart. They admitted
that they were going to roll the house of an acquaintance on Harpole Rd.
A caller reported heavy traffic at FM 407 and I-35W. Police told the
caller that it was due to a race at Texas Motor Speedway.
Police assisted with a possible fight in progress during a traffic stop
at the intersection of FM 407 and Lantana Trail.
An officer assisted Bartonville Police on an
accident involving a child who was seriously injured after jumping out of a
moving vehicle in the 1000 block of Brasher.
A caller told police that a female was smoking a crack pipe while driving in the
1200 block of FM 407 W.
Someone broke seven windows with rocks on the south side of the Argyle ISD
administration building on Eagle Drive during the weekend.
A man in the 700 block of Valley View Ct. complained that his neighbor’s dogs
would not stop barking. An officer found that the two dogs were attacking a
large turtle. He left a message for the homeowner to do something with the
turtle so the dogs would stop barking.
Police assisted the Denton County Sheriff with a suicidal person in the 800
block of Indian Trail.
A 17-year-old male came to the police station to report that a female
acquaintance would not return his jacket. Police called the woman and told her
to bring his jacket to the station.
A man in the 200 block of Harpole Rd. reported that his mailbox had been knocked
over, his trashcan was missing and the tires on both vehicles parked in his
driveway were flattened sometime during the previous night.
Police assisted the Denton County Sheriff at the scene of a domestic disturbance
and family violence arrest in the 8000 block of Steeplechase Circle.
A man in the 300 block of Redbud St. reported that someone shot his vehicle with
a BB gun while he was in jail. The damage was estimated to be $1,000.
Police were dispatched to Liberty Christian School after a man refused to leave
the field while coaches were attending to an injured football player. The man
appeared intoxicated and was told to leave or he would be arrested. The man’s
wife took him home.
A man called police and asked them to be present during a baseball game that his
girlfriend’s ex-husband - who had made verbal threats against him - would also
attend. Police advised him to call if it appeared that violence would occur.
Police were called to the 500 block of Hickory Hill Rd. for gunshots in the
area. An officer observed two juveniles throwing fireworks into a pond at a
church gathering. The boys were told that fireworks are not legal in Argyle.
A woman told police that her ex-husband had driven through her front and side
yard in the 100 block of Joyce St. During the investigation, the women’s
neighbor said that he saw a Verizon employee using a coring machine to run cable
to her house, which could have caused the tire tracks. The woman then confirmed
that she had Verizon come out and install new cable.
A man in the 300 block of Old Justin Road called to report that his mother
received a fake check for $4820 from Old United Life Insurance.
Police were called to break up an argument at Integrity Park between a little
league coach and a ball field supervisor over a baseball game that ran past the
time limit. The supervisor told the coach that they needed to leave the field or
he would file a criminal trespass charge.
A man reported a suspicious person walking across his yard in the 500 block of
Crawford Rd. It turned out to be a police officer that was attempting to contact
his neighbor about an illegal brush fire on Skyline Dr.
A furniture truck got stuck in the dip on Dallas Street on Hwy 377. The front
tires of the truck sank down 2 inches in the fresh asphalt.
Clifton Vanderford was arrested in the 400 block of Front Street on 11 traffic
warrants.
An officer assisted Northlake Police with stopping a vehicle that was involved
in a business theft in Lewisville. The suspects were taken into custody without
incident.
A caller reported that two people were “making out” in a white Ford Explorer in
the 200 block of Westover Drive. The man told an officer that he and his
girlfriend were just talking and would leave. No charges were filed.
Police investigated a theft from a residence in the 500 block of Hickory Ridge
Circle W.
A man in the 300 block of Old Justin Road called police to report that a U.S.
mail driver ran into his truck while he was not at home, causing minor damage.
An officer observed a person trespassing on the town’s property across 377 from
Town Hall. The woman was asked to leave and told to call Town Hall for
information about the property.
A woman in the 1600 block of FM 407 E said that $8000 was missing from her
account at Bank of America. She believed that the transaction took place over
the Internet.
Two people were arrested in the 100 block of Crawford Road after being stopped
for speeding and a search of their truck revealed a large amount of
Methamphetamine.
A woman of the 300 block of Forest Trail said that someone had used her social
security card to obtain a credit card from Chase Bank.
Police were dispatched to a
possible burglary in progress at Cross Timbers Community Church. An
officer noticed the fence surrounding the maintenance shed had been
vandalized. Nothing was taken from the church.
A man in the 100 block of Harpole Rd. told police that a large beaver
was on his back porch. He was advised to call the Animal Control
Officer.
An employee at Liberty Christian School reported that his motorcycle was
damaged in the school's parking lot when someone pushed it over on its
kickstand.
A man told police that a duck was kidnapped at the entrance of Country
Lakes. The man was unable to provide a description of the duck or its
abductor. An officer canvassed the area to see if there were any other
witnesses and vowed to continue to work the case to prevent the duck
from becoming someone’s dinner.
Police were dispatched to a domestic disturbance in the 100 block of FM
407 E where a wife told her husband that she was not going to sleep in
the same bed with him, but in her semi truck instead which was parked in
front of the residence. No charges were filed.
An officer observed a 15-year-old girl walking
along Crawford Road at 2 a.m. She said that she had snuck out of her residence
and was on her way to her friend’s house. The officer took her home.
A man in the 300 block of Redbud St. called police to complain that his
neighbor's grandchild was outside slamming the doors shut on his incarcerated
father's Jeep at all hours of the night. The officer spoke to the boy and his
grandmother about the issue.
Police were contacted by the Roanoke Police Department about a beer theft at
Alberston’s that was linked to a vehicle belonging to an Argyle resident who
lives in the 600 block of Old Justin Road.
A man in the 9100 block of Hilltop told police that his neighbor keeps driving
his large non-street legal 4 x 4 truck with loud exhaust pipes up and down the
road and turning around in his driveway.
Three children reported that a Hispanic male had attempted to break into their
neighbor’s garage in the 300 block of Redbud Street. The homeowner was
suspicious of the report because she caught two of the children opening her
garage door several months ago.
Police were dispatched to the 100 block of Shadowwood Drive on a report that a
skunk was in the backyard and would not leave. Animal Control was called.
A caller reported that a northbound train was on fire in the 600 block of U.S.
377. Railroad officials told police that it was actually a rail grinder that was
throwing off sparks.
A woman flagged down an officer in the 100 block of Country Lakes Boulevard to
report an injured goose in the pond. The officer went to the pond and found the
goose had an injured left leg and was unable to move. Animal Control was called
to take custody of the goose.
A man called police and asked if he could shoot off some blanks. He said he
needed to make sure that the guns were in regulation before heading to a Wild
West show. The man was told not to shoot the guns until he checked with the town
to see if he needed a permit.
A vacant house was vandalized in the 900 block of Skyline Drive.
Police were dispatched to the 3400 block of I-35W to investigate a domestic
dispute between a North Richland Hills man and his pregnant girlfriend. Both the
man and his girlfriend had to be handcuffed during the investigation. No charges
were filed.
A woman in the 200 block of Country Lakes Boulevard said that her neighbor’s
German Shepherd mix was roaming the neighborhood unattended and without a leash.
Someone stole copper and caused damage to a vacant house in the 400 block of
Frenchtown Rd.
Police were dispatched to 400 block of Collins on a report of two juveniles
"tearing stuff up in yards." An officer observed two boys around 8 years old in
a vacant lot swinging sticks at weeds and dandelions. The boys were told to not
to go into other people’s yards.
A man in the 1200 block of FM 407 W in Corral City said that a neighbor was
threatening to kill his cat. The neighbor denied making any threats against the
feline, but warned the man that it if his cat eats rats, it could be poisoned
since rat poison has been spread throughout the area.
Alice Marie Baroni was arrested at the I-35W/Crawford Road interchange for a
warrant out of the Denton Police Department.
The Denton Police Department informed APD that an Argyle teenager had attempted
to break into a house in the 400 block of FM 407 W.
Ryan David Humphries was arrested for a parole violation after leading officers
on a brief foot chase that began in the 600 block of Frenchtown Rd. and ended in
the Brashear Estates mobile home park.
Police were dispatched by neighbors complaining about loud music in the 200
block of FM 407 W. The owner of the house said that he was having an anniversary
party with a live band in his back yard and agreed to end the party.
Chester Clontz was arrested for violation of a protective order in the 300 block
of Redbud Street.
Jason Patrick Wright was arrested in the 500 block of Charyl Lynn Drive for
possession of a controlled substance and child endangerment after an
investigation by CPS.
An officer checked on a vehicle parked on the shoulder in the 600 block of FM
407 E. It turned out to be a private investigator conducting surveillance.
An employee at Point Bank on US 377 reported that a brown pickup truck was
parked in the drive thru all day.
A boy was shot in the buttocks with an airsoft gun by his cousin in the 300
block of Oak St. after threatening to tear up his cousin’s snowman with a
hammer.
Officers were called to the Argyle Church of Christ during the Primary election
by the Election Judge, who said that the crowd was getting out of control.
A 13-year-old girl in the 300 block of Hidden Trail punched her mother in the
stomach during a domestic disturbance. No charges were filed.
An officer questioned a man parked
behind Liberty Christian School who said he was digging for earthworms for
fishing. Police told him that he was on private property and needed to find
another place to dig for worms. No charges were filed.
Police assisted the Denton County
Sheriff’s Dept. with a 25-year-old Lantana woman who attempted suicide by
shooting herself in the forehead. The victim survived.
Someone called police about an
injured goose at FM 1830 and Fincher. The goose flew the coop before an officer
arrived.
A Corral City man reported that a
neighbor told his girlfriend he would shoot his dog if it kept urinating on his
rose bushes.
Police were dispatched to a hold-up
alarm at Johnny Joe's on Hwy 377. When officers arrived, they questioned a newly
hired clerk who said that he thought the alarm button was a "fragrance button"
to make it smell better.
A caller told police
that people were doing drugs and consuming alcohol around a 6-month-old baby in
the 600 block of FM 407 E. No drugs or alcohol were found. The owner of the
house said that CPS had been there three times in the past.
Police rounded up 30 loose goats in the 400 block of Jeter Road.
A man in the 900 block of Stonecrest called police to report that his son would
not obey him and was being disrespectful. The 14-year-old boy told police that
he got angry because he was hungry and wanted his parents to make him his
dinner.
Someone stole jewelry from a house in the 300 block of Creekside in Country
Lakes.
A woman in the 900 block of Old Justin Road called police wanting to know the
policy of officers picking up newspapers that were left in the driveway. The
woman was told that officers do not pick up newspapers.
Police were dispatched to the 200 block of Shadow Wood Drive where some kids
were ringing doorbells and setting off cherry bombs. An officer caught three
boys in the 100 block of Morning Dove Ct.
A man in the 300 block of Creekside reported that he found a pink wallet in his
front yard. The wallet belonged to an Argyle woman whose vehicle was burglarized
the night before by several teenagers.
Two kids were shooting airsoft guns outside of E.P. Rayzor Elementary School.
Police broke up the shootout and released the children to their parents.
A woman in the 400 block of Collins Street told police that an unknown male had
left an opened box of chocolates on her porch on Valentine’s Day. She was going
to have the candy tested for poisons or needles.
Police were called to Liberty Christian School in reference to a student
threatening another student on his MySpace page.
A homeowner in the 1000 block of Hickory Hill Rd. said that his daughter’s
friends rolled his house and trees with toilet paper. The suspects came back and
cleaned up the mess.
Due to recent burglaries in the neighborhood, the officer questioned a couple
sitting in the back seat of a car parked in front of a house in the 100 block of
Morning Dove Ct. The man said they were just visiting. The woman admitted they
were making out and that the man was her boyfriend. No charges were filed.
A couple in the 500 block of Cypress called police because the wife thought she
saw someone standing in the kitchen when they came home. Police searched the
house, but did not find anyone or signs of forced entry. The husband admitted
that she might have just seen a shadow.
Police assisted the Argyle Fire Dept. with a man who had fallen off his bicycle
in the 1700 block of Robson Ranch Road and hit his head on the pavement.
A woman in the 200 block of River Meadows Lane reported that an 8-year-old boy
she did not know came to her home and asked if he could play with her son.
Police gave the boy a ride home. His father and he said that he was supposed to
be a friend’s house around the corner.
Someone stole $1,000 worth of tools from Faith Harvest Church in the 200 block
of Cook Street.
A boy in the 300 block of Redbud Street said that his cousin shot at him with a
pellet gun. He also said that his cousin had broken into their uncle’s jeep and
stolen tools out of it and had shot out both headlights with the pellet gun. The
cousin denied shooting at the boy and said that his accuser also had a pellet
gun and shot out of the headlights. No charges were filed.
A woman called police to report that a student who ran into her son’s car in the
parking lot of Liberty Christian School refuses to pay for the damages.
An employee of Paradise Liquors reported that a 26-year-old man unsuccessfully
attempted to purchase alcohol using an underage teenage girl’s credit card. The
girl then entered the store, withdrew cash from the ATM, and gave it to the man
to purchase the alcohol. The clerk again refused to sell the man any alcohol.
The pair left the store empty handed in a black SUV before police arrived.
A woman called to report that someone with Allied Waste Systems took 50 bags of
leaves sitting on a trailer in front of her house without her consent. She
contacted Allied Waste and spoke with a supervisor, who said that he would get
her leaves back to her. She asked the officer to go and get her leaves back. The
officer told her that he could not get her leaves, but would file a police
report per her request.
An officer observed
a truck parked near the Argyle high school tennis courts occupied by a teenage
couple. They told the officer that they were "making out" and agreed to leave
the area.
Police assisted Bartonville PD in the 500 block of Oakwood Dr. with a man who
said that that someone sent him a text message threatening to kill him and his
mother.
An unknown man was spotted in the backyard of a home in the 100 block of Crooked
Cove. He hopped the fence and fled when the homeowners saw him. Police were
unable to locate the man.
Someone called police and reported seeing a large number of buzzards sitting on
top of a house in the 400 block of FM 407 E. The caller thought someone might be
dead inside the residence. Police checked the house and were unable to locate
any suspicious activity or buzzards.
A woman in the 5900 block of Parkplace reported that an unknown person used her
credit card in El Paso, White Settlement and Ft. Worth.
Police were dispatched to Argyle High School after a man said that a sexual
predator from Hawaii tried to kidnap his daughter. Police were unable to locate
the suspect.
A woman reported that two pit bulls attacked her while she was jogging on
Whispering Trail.
Police assisted the Sheriff's Dept. with a suicidal man in the 1200 block of
Powell in Lantana. No injuries were reported.
At least three vehicles were burglarized in the 100 block of Morning Dove Ct.
Chester Clontz of Argyle was arrested for assault/family violence in the 300
block of Redbud St.
A woman in the 300 block of Oak St. called police and said that her daughter was
not supposed to be playing with another girl.
10 ducks were found dead in an open field near Meadowcreek Dr. and Creekside
Trail. No suspects have yet to fit the bill.
Luis Alberto Avila of Argyle was arrested for public intoxication and reckless
damage after smashing his Ford Mustang into a fence in the 200 block of FM 1830.
A man said that a 15 year-old boy came to his door in the 100 block of County
Lakes Blvd. one evening and asked to use the bathroom. The man did not know the
boy and refused to let him in. Police could not locate the teen for questioning.
A woman said that someone had transferred $800 from her checking account into an
unknown bank account.
Unknown subject(s) caused $900 in damage by cutting 11 bench seats in a Argyle
ISD bus, possibly during a basketball game at Bridgeport High School.
A woman in the 900 block of Pioneer Circle E said that her neighbor across the
street saw her leaving, so her neighbor proceeded to get in her car and leave at
the same time. Police told the woman that they couldn't keep her neighbor from
leaving her residence or control when she leaves.
A reckless driver was reported in the 300 Hickory Ridge Cir. Police investigated
and found that a woman was text messaging while driving.
A woman brought her
10-year-old son to the police station and said that he had broken into a
neighbor's house on Shenandoah Ct. The child admitted to being in the residence
and said that the only thing he did was play video games. Police then went to
the house and found a rear door unlocked and a broken kitchen window. The owner
of the house, who was on vacation, did not press charges.
11 dogs were seized from a house in the 200 block of Harpole Rd. after police
received a report of abandoned dogs at the residence.
Officers assisted the Denton County Sheriff's Dept. with a domestic dispute in
the 1200 block of Foster St. in Lantana.
A man told police that a woman he knows was calling him repeatedly, threatening
to harm him because Child Protective Services was called to her house. An
officer visited the woman's residence and she said that the man might get "bitch
slapped". The officer admonished her about saying things like that to people and
she agreed to stop.
Police assisted the Denton County Sheriff's Dept. with a report of two
bicyclists that urinated in front of a complainant in the 200 block of Orchid
Hill Ln. and took off.
During an ongoing feud between neighbors in the 900 block of Pioneer Circle E, a
woman reported that her neighbor shined a flashlight in her eyes intentionally
while she was taking a walk. The same woman told police later that her neighbor
followed her as she drove her kids to school. No charged were filed in either
incident.
A woman told police that she was enroute to her daughter's ex-boyfriends house
to retrieve her daughter's dog. She said that her ex was holding the dog for
ransom. The couple had previously worked out a visitation arrangement for the
dog.
Police were dispatched to Argyle High School to assist the Fire Department with
a possible drug overdose. It was determined that a student had taken too many
diet pills.
A woman reported that a brown pit bull belonging to her neighbor was loose in
the 600 block of Walnut St. She said that it was not the first time that this
had occurred. Police told the dog's owner to secure his yard.
A caller reported that some kids were ringing her doorbell in the 600 block of
Primrose Ct. Police were unable to locate the juveniles.
Two separate parents told police that a Dallas man had sent letters containing
religious messages to their 17-year-old daughters at Argyle High School. The
letters were in response to the media coverage over dress code violations at the
school dance. No charges were filed.
A caller in the 200 block of Redbud St. reported possible gunshots. Police
questioned two juveniles in the area who said that they set off fireworks to
chase away a stray cat.
A caller reported several bobcats in his backyard in the 400 block of Surrey Ln.
Animal Control was called to assist.
Police arrested Benjamin Elsworth Bartlett for multiple warrants in the 500
block of Gibbons Rd S.
A caller in the 1000 block of Thornridge Circle reported that a neighbor’s dog
had attacked her dog.
Officers attempted to serve a felony warrant to a woman at her sister's house in
the 300 block of Oak St. After a search of the house, it was determined that the
woman jumped out of the back window and fled on foot. Police searched the area
but were unable to locate the woman. She had also fled from the Tarrant County
Sheriff's Dept. earlier in the day.
A student at Argyle High School was issued a citation for Possession of Drug
Paraphernalia after marijuana seeds and leaves were found in his vehicle during
a random drug search conducted by the RAID Corporation.
A pit bull attacked and injured a dog in the 200 block of FM 407 W. Animal
Control took the injured dog to the Argyle Vet.
The manager of the
Shops of Argyle reported that unknown persons have been illegally dumping
furniture in their trash dumpsters at night.
A caller reported that a silver Dodge pickup was driving on front lawns in the
200 block of Chisholm Trail. Other neighbors reported seeing a red Buick sedan
with one headlight out occupied by two black males wearing bandanas driving
slowly through the neighborhood several times. Police were unable to locate
either vehicle.
Ernest Mosley, 35, was arrested for failure to identify/fugitive from justice
and on an outstanding warrant from Dallas after being stopped for speeding in
the 600 block of Hickory Hill Rd.
A vehicle was burglarized in the front parking lot of Cross Timbers Community
Church.
A caller in the 600 block of West Front St. heard male voices in her yard. It
turned out to be the announcer for the Argyle High School football game.
A man told police that he observed several high school students parked on the
west side of Mosswood Drive possibly selling drugs. Police checked the area and
no drugs or suspects were found.
A caller in the 300 block of Creekside Trail reported a suspicious white male
walking through the neighborhood. The suspect was located in the 300 block of
Country Club and arrested on a Denton PD traffic warrant.
Police spotted a man and woman parked in a Jeep behind Paradise Liquors late at
night. The couple told the office that they were talking, and then later
admitted that they were doing other things as well. The office told them that
they should find a better location for what they were doing and they agreed. No
charged were filed.
A mailbox was vandalized by unknown persons in the 200 block of Crawford Rd.
Someone kicked in the rear garage door of a home in the 800 block of Manor to
gain entry. Nothing was taken.
A woman who lives in the 101 block of Shenandoah Dr. said that someone had used
her name and driver's license information to pass personal checks totaling
around $150 at two different Wal-Mart's in Richardson and Garland.
Police responded to a report of a white male approximately 14 to 17 years old
hiding in the woods in the 800 block of Crawford Road apparently spying on a
teenage girl that lives across the street.
An unlocked vehicle was burglarized in the Liberty Christian School parking lot.
